Summary

MAIC is a company based in Vukovar – Croatia that offers system solutions focused on digitalization of hotels and gastro services. Job was to conduct a UX research and  create a digital system solution for city of Dubrovnik in Croatia. Dubrovnik is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, therefore it offered a huge number of potential users of this type of system. Plan was to first define some main problems and think about possible solutions in order to plan our approach to this job. My role was to be a part of research team, afterwards I was assigned to design low and high fidelity prototypes for the UI. Later I was also assigned to work on a design for the physical product that purpose was to generate users.

Problem

  • There was no attempt before this to fully digitalize this type of service
  • By doing research it was clear that the competition did not cover all the aspects and user needs
  • All solutions included only App's that needed to be downloaded
  • How to generate users without the need to download the App

Solution

  • Full digitalization of the service allowing easy and comfortable usability for both users and service offerors
  • Instead of going straight for the App development, the solution was to first build a website that was focused on users coming from mobile devices and offer them PWA instead
  • Additionally a device concept was designed that would help generate users (currently protected by NDA)
